Welcome to the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment!
If you’re interested in the natural environment, managing our natural resources, and how people interact with the natural and built environment, you’ve come to the right place. We provide undergraduate programs in Community and Environmental Planning, Environmental Conservation Studies, Environmental & Resource Economics, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, Tourism Planning & Development, and Wildlife Ecology as well as Graduate Programs at the M.S. level and participate in the NRESS Ph.D. Program.
We are an interdisciplinary group which values great teaching, student-faculty interaction, and hands on learning. No fewer than six faculty members have won the College’s outstanding teaching or advising awards. Our department has exceptional strength in virtually all areas of ecological study, as well as the social sciences.
