Environmental and Resource Economics B.S.
The student in Resource Economics is trained primarily in the science of economics and its use in problem solving. This program offers study in public resource policy, natural resource and environmental economics, and community economics and finance. Training is also available in agricultural economics, including agribusiness, small business management, food and marine marketing, and world food supplies. Emphasis is also placed on courses related to freshwater and marine economics, land economics, and rural economic development. Majors are encouraged to take courses in other departments related to their interest. For example, students with interest in natural resource and environmental economics could complement their program with courses in the Department of Natural Resources.
Students majoring in the social sciences and biological departments of the University may find it to their advantage to select courses or minor in resource economics. A minor in agribusiness is also offered to complement their technical studies in agriculture with economics and finance and small business management.
